Our egg laying hens are a mixture of hybrid breeds that will lay around 300 eggs a year. Unlike most conventional systems, our hens get to roam their pastures - they scratch the soil, eat the grass, seeds and bugs; living a more natural and ethical lifestyle.

They also play a vital part in our farming system by following the dairy heifers around the pastures - they do the clean up job!

We move the chickens 4 days behind the cows allowing the fly larvae in the cow pats to hatch. The chickens then eat them and eat any worm eggs they find.

We operate a custom built mobile chicken coop that we call the Eggmobile! This special enclosure has no floor meaning that all the chicken manure is spread around the pasture and fertilises the soil as they go.

Two species working in tandem to create a sustainable product!
